Handstitchers Hearts for Friends Challenge
Hi everyone! I’ve been missing our handstitchers get together and I know many of you are too.  Although I don’t feel it is the right time for a class I wanted to propose a challenge for all of you.  This has been a difficult year in many ways but has also brought its joys and pleasures.  Creating, crafting, sewing, quilting, knitting and hand stitching have brought joy and solace to many of us.  I thought it would be fun to use our hand stitching skills to reconnect with each other and with the people who have impacted our lives during this time.
The Challenge will be to create a hand stitched heart to give to someone who has encouraged you or to give to someone who needs some encouragement going into this new year.
Criteria
⦁ you can use any fabric but you must include wool felt somewhere in your project
⦁ size – no larger than 6×6″
⦁ a minimum of 5 different hand stitches
⦁ use at least one other embelishment (buttons, lace, charms…)
There are two ways to participate.  You can email a picture to threadnpaper@shaw.ca use the subject line “stitching challenge” by Wednesday, Feb 3 or drop it off in store by Wed, Feb 3 to be included in our display.  All entries will be ready for pick up by Friday, Feb 12.  All entries both photo and in store will be entered to win a hand stitcher’s prize donated by Carol!
Enjoy!  Missing you all,
Carolyn
