Solare Banyan Batik Block of the Month
Here is another stunning block of the month featuring Northcott‘s Banyan Batiks! This stunner is designed by Mimi Hollenbaugh and Pat Syta of Bound To Be Quilting in Colorado. Pat and Mimi met while working at and designing for a Colorado quilt shop. They started their company in 2016 and have been designing unique quilting patterns ever since!
The Solare block of the month pattern has multiple blocks that are a little more challenging but wouldn’t be considered difficult. We think this quilt will appeal to intermediate quilters. For the coloration of this quilt, we strove for an earth and sky look using browns, oranges and greens that reflect nature, with the blues and golds of the heavens; a combination that should appeal to both men and women.
As well, use your leftover fabric to make a bonus companion block as a great way to accessorize your room to match your new quilt. Use it as a throw pillow or turn it into a wall hanging. Complete instructions are included in the pattern and the finished size is 24” x 24”.
Your kit includes pattern, all fabrics and binding to finish your quilt top. This Class will run on the 2nd and 4th Thursday of each month so that you can complete your quilt before summer (Think of it as 2 blocks per month)
***please note, Januray dates are not 2nd and 4th as planned**
Finished Size: 99” x 99”
The cost is $36 per class and this includes the fabric for your blocks
